The REAL Cusco experience – book with Munay Illary and ask for Liz! My wife and I just got back from 7 incredible days in Cusco, and I can honestly say this was one of the best trips we've ever taken. We're from NYC, so we're used to fast-paced everything, but this trip forced us to slow down and actually feel the Andes – and that's all thanks to Munay Illary and our guide, Liz Montesinos. We did it all: the City Tour around Cusco's cathedrals and ruins, the Sacred Valley (Pisac and Ollantaytambo were highlights), a full day at Machu Picchu (yes, it's every bit as breathtaking as the photos), and two off-the-beaten-path hikes to the Temple of the Moon and Inkilltambo – which were honestly just as magical as MP, but with barely any tourists. What set this agency apart was the seamless operation. Private transport was always on time, hotel check-ins were smooth, and they handled all the train and entrance tickets without a single glitch. We didn't have to stress about a thing. But the game-changer was Liz. She didn't just recite facts – she shared her culture. She talked to us about Andean spirituality, the meaning behind the offerings to Pachamama, and her own family's traditions. We weren't just sightseeing; we were connecting. She even taught us a few words in Quechua and made us feel like we were part of her world for a week. If you're looking for a reliable, trustworthy agency in Cusco – one that actually cares about your experience and not just your wallet – book with Munay Illary. And seriously, request Liz as your guide. You won't regret it. 100% worth it!!!!

Best guide we've ever had Liz Montesinos we just got back from 7 days in Cusco and I'm still not over it lol. My husband and I had been talking about doing Peru for years and we finally pulled the trigger. A couple of our friends went last year and they would not shut up about Munay Illary—like they kept saying "you HAVE to book with them" so we did. Best decision ever. We specifically asked for Liz Montesinos to be our guide because our friends raved about her, and honestly? She exceeded every expectation. I'm not exaggerating when I say she was the best guide we've had in all our years of traveling. And we've traveled a lot. Everything was private just us two the whole week. No van full of randoms, no waiting around. We did the Cusco walking tour first and Liz was so patient with us while we were huffing and puffing from the altitude, She knew exactly when to slow down and when to push us a little. Sacsayhuamán blew our minds. The way those stones fit together so perfectly? It's insane. Like no mortar, no nothing, and they're cut so precisely you can't even slip a piece of paper between them. How did they even do that?? Liz explained it all but in a chill way, not like a boring history lecture. We spent way longer there than planned because we kept taking photos from every single angle lol. Sacred Valley was beautiful too. One of my favorite parts was visiting the weavers in Chinchero. These ladies sat us down and showed us the entire process—from washing the wool to dyeing it with natural colors to spinning it right in front of us. They even gave us a mate de muña and coca to share with them while they worked, and honestly? That was one of the most memorable moments of the whole trip. Just sitting there sipping tea, watching them weave, chatting through Liz's translations. We enjoyed every sip lol. We also stopped at a llama farm which was way more fun than I expected. You could feed them and take all the selfies you want—my husband got absolutely obsessed with one of the baby llamas 😂 And Machu Picchu... just wow. I was so stressed about the logistics trains, buses, tickets, times but Liz had every single detail handled. We just showed up and enjoyed it. She told us exactly where to go for that classic sunrise shot and we got there early enough that it wasn't crowded yet. Magical doesn't even begin to cover it. But honestly? What I didn't expect was how spiritual the whole experience ended up being. There's something about being up in the Andes that just hits different. Liz helped us connect with the Pachamama in a way that felt really authentic not cheesy or performative. She'd point out the mountains and explain how the Incas saw them as living energies, and idk how to explain it but you could actually feel it. We found ourselves just stopping and taking it all in, way more than we usually do on trips. My husband isn't even the "spiritual" type and even he was moved. What I loved most is that we never felt rushed. A whole week and it never felt like we were on a conveyor belt being shuffled from one site to the next. Liz made us feel like we were her only priority even though I'm sure she had other stuff going on. She's warm, super responsive, and clearly passionate about what she does. If you're debating between a big group tour and something more personal just spend the extra and go with Munay Illary. And if you can, request Liz. You won't regret it. We sure didn't.

Solo female traveler? Liz Montesinos & Munay Illary are EVERYTHING! Okay so I literally just got back from 15 days in Cusco and I'm still not over it lol. I traveled completely alone first solo trip ever, actually and honestly I was pretty nervous at first. But booking with Munay Illary and having Liz Montesinos as my guide was hands down the best decision I could have made. From the moment I landed in Cusco, Liz was there waiting with a big smile and coca tea (which btw really works for altitude!). She made me feel safe right away. We did the classic City Tour but honestly my favorite was just walking through the old streets of Cusco, Liz took me through these tiny alleys with colorful balconies and hidden plazas that I never would've found on my own. She knows EVERY corner of that city. The Sacred Valley was spread over two incredible days – and I'm so glad we did it that way because there's just SO much to see. In the Sacred Valley took us to Chinchero first , the weaving demonstration there was incredible. These women use natural dyes from plants and even insects! Then we went to Moray, those circular agricultural terraces are absolutely mind blowing. Liz explained that the Incas used them as a kind of experimental farm, with different temperatures at each level. So clever! And then we visited Las Salineras, the salt mines which I had no idea even existed. Thousands of white salt pools carved into the mountainside, sparkling in the sun. It was stunning and so unique. I bought some pink salt to take home!. the other day in the Sacred Valley was completely different and equally amazing. We started at the Parque de la Papa (Potato Park) in Pisac, I know it sounds random but it was fascinating! They have like hundreds of native potato varieties and we got to taste some. I even bought dried potatoes to bring home haha. Then we explored the Pisac ruins , those terraces climbing up the mountain are insane and the views over the valley took my breath away. After that we headed to Ollantaytambo wow. Those giant stone terraces are mind-blowing. How did they even move those rocks?! Liz explained everything in such a fun way that I was completely hooked. One of the most special days was visiting the Willoc community. I was a bit nervous about that as a solo traveler, but Liz made it feel so natural and respectful. We shared a meal with a local family, they taught me some Quechua words, and they even showed us their traditional weaving and farming techniques – I probably said the words wrong but they were so kind about it lol. It was amazing to see how they live connected to the land and their ancestors. We also visited Ñaupa Iglesia and wow, what a hidden gem! It's this mysterious Incan ceremonial site carved into the rock, with a huge stone that looks like a face. Liz explained that it was a sacred place for offerings and spiritual ceremonies. We spent some time there just sitting in silence, and I honestly felt this incredible energy it's hard to explain but it was so peaceful and powerful at the same time. Definitely one of my favorite off-the-beaten-path spots! If you like hiking, definitely do the Inkilltambo trek and Temple of the Moon. It's a bit off the beaten path and the views are stunning. The temple is carved into the rock and it feels like a secret hideout super cool. We also explored the South Valley and it was so worth it! We visited Tipón, these incredible Incan agricultural terraces with a working irrigation system that still flows today. Liz explained how the Incas engineered it all and I was just in awe. Then we went to Andahuaylillas the "Sistine Chapel of the Americas" and wow, the colonial paintings and gold leaf decorations inside the church are absolutely stunning. Such a beautiful contrast to all the Incan sites we'd been seeing. And of course... Machu Picchu. I'm not gonna lie, I teared up a little when we finally saw it. The fog was lifting and there it was absolutely magical. Liz timed it perfectly so we beat the crowds and she took the BEST photos of me. Finally some solo traveler pics that aren't awkward selfies haha. We also did the Palcoyo trek for the rainbow mountains. I chose this one instead of Vinicunca because I heard it's less crowded. BEST DECISION EVER. The colors are unreal and there were barely any other tourists. Felt like I had the whole mountain to myself. The hotel in Urubamba in Cusco and in Machu Picchu, that Munay Illary picked was lovely super cozy, great food, and gorgeous views. It was nice to come back to after long days of exploring. Now about Liz she is truly the best. As a woman traveling alone, I needed someone, I could trust completely and she went above and beyond. She's incredibly knowledgeable but also warm and funny. She made sure I was drinking enough water, helped with altitude sickness, carried extra snacks (lifesaver!), and just made me feel so cared for. But what really set Liz apart was her spiritual side. She shared beautiful Andean rituals with me in special places – like offering coca leaves to Pachamama (Mother Earth), saying a prayer at sunrise in the Sacred Valley, and doing a small ceremony at the Temple of the Moon. She explained the meaning behind each ritual and it felt so genuine, not performative at all. It made me feel so connected to the land and the ancestors in a way I never expected. She also taught me about the Andean concept of Ayni (reciprocity) and how important it is to give back to nature. I honestly left each ritual feeling so at peace. And the communities we visited Willoc and others were so generous with their customs. They shared their traditional music, their clothing, their food, and their stories with so much pride and warmth. It wasn't a tourist show it was real. Liz made sure we were welcomed as guests, not spectators, and that meant the world to me. To all the solo female travelers and groups of women: please book with Munay Illary and ASK FOR LIZ. Seriously. They understand what women need safety, respect, flexibility, and genuine connection. I never once felt unsafe or alone. And if you're open to it, let Liz share her spiritual knowledge with you , it will transform your trip in ways you can't imagine. Thank you Liz for everything, you made this trip absolutely unforgettable. I'm already planning my next trip and bringing my girlfriends next time! Munay Illary + Liz = THE BEST TEAM for women travelers!

Beyond the Classic Tour – An 8-Day Soulful Adventure in Cusco My partner and I just returned from the most incredible 8 days in Cusco, and I can’t recommend Munay Illary enough. If you’re looking for the usual rushed circuit with big crowds, this is NOT that agency. They offer something truly unique: private, flexible experiences that adapt to what YOU need. We started with a city tour, but even that felt special, Liz Montesinos, our guide, took us to hidden corners of the San Blas neighborhood and shared stories you won’t find in any guidebook. Then came the Sacred Valley, where instead of the typical souvenir stops, we visited local weaving communities and had a private picnic overlooking Pisac. The highlight? Machu Picchu, of course, but Liz arranged for us to go at sunrise with barely anyone around. Magical. But what really set this trip apart were the mountain hikes designed for meditation and nature connection. One morning we hiked to a quiet spot near Temple of the Moon and Inkilltambo, and Liz led a gentle breathing exercise facing the Andes. Another day, we did a short walk to a tranquil lagoon where we meditated for an hour – no other tourists, just the wind and the mountains. My partner and I felt completely safe, cared for, and spiritually renewed. Liz is not just a guide; she’s a healer and a nature lover who reads the energy of the group perfectly. She even adjusted the itinerary on the fly when we wanted an extra hour at a meditation spot. If you want a deeply personal, transformative experience in Cusco – with a guide who becomes a friend , go with Munay Illary and ask for Liz Montesinos. We’re already planning our return.

Exceptional Private Tour of Machu Picchu with Liz I had the pleasure of doing a private tour of Machu Picchu today with Liz from Munay Illary, and I cannot recommend her enough. Having spent time with her on a previous tour, I knew I was in good hands, but today was truly a highlight. Liz is completely proactive—her communication leading up to the day was excellent, and she managed every logistical detail seamlessly so I didn't have to worry about a thing. She is incredibly knowledgeable and attentive, but also genuinely funny, which made for such an engaging and enjoyable day. If you are looking for a professional, stress-free, and deeply insightful experience of the citadel, book with Munay Illary. Liz is a total pro and just a joy to spend the day with.

Our best experience in Peru, and best guide Liz Montesinos!. just amazing! I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I just got back from Peru and honestly can't stop thinking about our trip, so here I am. My partner and I booked a private tour with Munay Illary for Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu, and it was hands down the best decision we made for this vacation. Leading up to the trip, I was that annoying person emailing with about a million questions (I like to have everything figured out beforehand). Dany from their team answered every single one with so much patience, which already made me feel like we were in good hands. Once we landed in Cusco, everything went perfectly. Our drivers, Tomas and Wilfredo, were both fantastic and drove super carefully on those winding mountain roads. You know how it can feel a bit sketchy sometimes? Not with them. I could actually relax and take in the views. But the real reason I'm writing this is our guide, Liz Montesinos. I genuinely can't say enough good things about her. Yes, she knows all the history and facts about the Incan sites, but it's what she brings beyond that which makes all the difference. She shares her culture and spiritual traditions with so much heart that you can't help but feel connected to everything around you. Walking through Machu Picchu with her didn't feel like a typical tour. It felt... different. Special. Like we were actually understanding the place instead of just looking at it and taking photos. She helped us feel the energy of the mountains in a way I didn't expect. If you're heading to Cusco and want an experience that's more than just checking boxes, definitely reach out to these guys and request Liz as your guide. Huge thanks to the whole team for making our trip so memorable. 11/11 would recommend, and we'd book with them again without hesitating.

Liz Montesinos Cusco Guide We did a private tour of central Cusco with Liz Montesinos. Liz was an excellent guide, she took us to parts of Cusco that we wouldn’t have found on our own. Liz was very knowledgeable about the history as she is a native of Cusco. We would highly recommended her, she is very friendly and personable. She arrived at our hotel ahead of time and discussed what we wanted to see and do. Top marks for Liz!

This Wasn't a Tour; It Was a Spiritual Awakening in the Heart of the Inca World If you are reading this, you are likely comparing countless tour operators for your trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu. Let me make your decision simple: stop looking and book with Munay Illary. My wife and I have traveled extensively, and this was, without a doubt, the most profound and meaningful travel experience we have ever had. We booked the classic circuit: City Tour, Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu. From the outset, it was clear this would be different. While other groups were being herded like cattle, listening to guides recite memorized dates, our experience was one of deep connection and personal discovery. Our guide, Liz Montesinos, was the heart of this journey. She wasn't just a guide; he was a storyteller, a spiritual interpreter, and a guardian of the sacred energy of these places. In the Qoricancha, he didn't just talk about stonework; she explained the Inca's cosmic vision. In the Sacred Valley, amidst the majestic Pisac ruins, he found a quiet spot for our small group to sit in silent meditation, listening only to the wind and feeling the ancient power of the land. It was breathtaking. The pinnacle was, of course, Machu Picchu. Instead of rushing to the classic photo spot, our guide from Munay Illary took us to a secluded terrace. There, as the morning mist cleared, she shared stories of the spirit of the mountains. she gave us space to simply be—to absorb the overwhelming energy, to meditate, and to feel a genuine connection to this wonder of the world. We didn't just see Machu Picchu; we felt it in our souls. This focus on spirituality is what sets Munay Illary light years apart from any other company. Logistically, everything was flawless punctual, comfortable, and well organized. But what you are really paying for is the transformation. The names "Munay" (love) and "Illary" (light) are not just words; they are the essence of the experience they curate. If you are seeking more than just a checklist of sights, if you want a journey that will touch your heart and expand your spirit, this is your operator. Do not hesitate. This was the trip of a lifetime, and we will carry its light with us forever. Thank You again Liz.

The Best Guide Liz Montesinos and the Best travel agency Munay Illary Awesome more than a tour, I cannot recommend this travel agency Munay Illary enough. They didn't just sell us a tour; they curated a life-changing experience that went far beyond the traditional, crowded tourist trails. From the start, their organization was impeccable, but what truly set them apart was the profound depth of the journey itself. We spent seven incredible days in Cusco, and every moment was designed to connect us not just with the stunning landscapes, but with the very heart and spirit of the Andes. The absolute highlight of our trip was our guide, Liz Montesinos, She was not merely a source of historical facts; she was a storyteller, a spiritual compass, and a wonderful companion. Over those seven days, she generously shared the profound richness of her culture with us. She explained the spirituality behind the sacred sites, the depth of the local traditions, and the wisdom of her people in a way that was both enlightening and deeply moving. It felt less like a lecture and more like a beautiful, shared learning experience. This was not a simple vacation. It was a transformative journey that touched our souls. If you are looking for an authentic, meaningful, and deeply spiritual connection with Cusco, look no further. This agency and their incredible guides are the real deal. Thank you for an unforgettable adventure Munay Illary and Liz.
